The challenge was to consolidate eight standalone modules into a single, cohesive platform. Each module supported a different part of the payroll lifecycle, from onboarding and compliance to payment approvals and reporting. I began by designing a shared component library and visual guidelines to ensure consistency across flows. With a focus on clarity, efficiency and role based access, I created product designs that enabled teams to work together seamlessly across countries, time zones and job roles, all within a unified experience.
To bring the platform vision to life, I produced a suite of clickable prototypes covering the end to end journey for each major user type. These interactive demos were used in user testing sessions, stakeholder reviews and development planning. The prototypes illustrated how previously manual workflows could be streamlined, centralised and tracked, creating more transparency and reducing operational overhead. I also introduced a series of innovation scenarios that explored how AI could automate repetitive tasks, flag anomalies in payroll data and provide proactive support to users. The success of the demos led to overwhelmingly positive feedback from clients and stakeholders, ultimately prompting significant investment from the board to fast track the development roadmap and bring the new product vision to market sooner.
